Hi Team,

Having read the post Robert has made in the 'Home / Welcome' section, on the next version of VS, I wondered if you would suggest a strategy to guys like me.

Do I (we) go out and find the latest pre-release copy of VS 15 (VSnext) or are we best to wait until you post a message to say it is time to upgrade, and that the compiler then on offer will work well enough for guys like me to move forward.

Guidance PLEASE ;-0)

Best regards,
Phil.

Phil,

Without giving away too much of what Ms is going to say next week on their conference, I suggest you wait a week or two.

Robert

Thanks Robert,

Just the sort of helpful comment I was hoping to hear ;-0)

Meanwhile the X# versions of my LINQ to SQL (and more) are going well. This is quite a large topic - BUT - not difficult for us standard guys. There is just some much detail to be aware of if we are to save ourselves time at design and code creation.

I am happy enough to wait ..........

Have a nice weekend,
Phil.

So, with the new build etc. here, any advise how to proceed with VS17 Community? I see VS still as "RC", any reason, not to install it now?

Hi Karl,

I am waiting on Robert telling me that all the XSharp bits are available - that is compiler and matching VS integration for the new version.

Plenty to do till then, for me ;-0)
Regards,
Phil.

Karl, Phil
Ms has assured us that there will be no breaking changes between 2017 RC and 2017.
They will only fix some bugs and work on issues, such as adding the new Help collection.
