If you want to learn and practice XSharp Core, you can start using our new XSharp Notebooks.

A Notebook is a file with cells, and each cell can be of different types.
A cell can contain text in Markdown format with instructions and help, or some code in a specific language, currently XSharp, that you will need to test and amend to your needs.

You will also find folders with different levels and topics. Currently, the First Steps series focuses on XSharp Core, but we plan to offer Notebooks in other dialects in the future as well.  We also plan to offer several other topics (like SQL-basic with X#, etc).

These Notebooks are still under development, but you can already start your journey, and we hope you enjoy it! ;)

Today, we have released an installer (for our FOX subscribers) for XSharp Cahors 2.20, which contains some fixes for problems reported with X# 2.19, as well as some new features.

Introduction

In October 2024, we are organizing our third European conference, following successful events in 2022 and 2023.

Upon request from attendees, we are moving the event from the relatively small city of Memmingen to München (Munich).
Unfortunately, this also means that the prices are somewhat higher than last year.

We will present the current state of the X# development and show how to migrate your apps to XSharp. Furthermore, we will also discuss the internals of X# and how you can extend X#. Finally, we will discuss our future plans, such as our support for next versions of .Net, and showcase some work in progress.

This summit is structured to encourage open and facilitated face-to-face discussions and idea-sharing among all attendees. Refreshments will be provided throughout day, with scheduled lunch and snack breaks.

We are starting the beta test for the X# SQL RDD next week.
If you are interested in participating in this beta, please email robert@xsharp.eu.
This will be a relatively short beta cycle.
There will be a special forum dedicated to the beta on this website.

What we expect of beta testers:

• That you have time to test;
• That you understand that beta software may have problems;
• That you provide us with feedback (both positive and negative) about your experiences.

The first version of the SQL RDD will come with database providers for Oracle, Microsoft SQL and MySql and also for ODBC and OleDb.
Contact us if you need another provider. Setting up a new provider is not too complicated, but we may need some help from you.
