Please read the announcement at https://devblogs.microsoft.com/visualst ... udio-2022/

Let's hope they give the 3rd party (us) the change to test our extensions before launching the product.

Most probably they will not give you the chance. But surely we will understand that you didn't have the chance.
(If I sold a product like VS, I would also release it as early as possible with my own products working and then allow the 3rd party vendors to have a look at it. It is the best way to show the world that I am the greatest :woohoo: :cheer: )

The announcement for the availability of Visual Studio 2022 Preview 1 will be made soon. My guess is, that it will be released at Build 2021, which probably will take place at the end of may (25th–27th). And since .Net 6 will be released in November, chances are high, that the Visual Studio 2022 RC will be released in November too.

Mads Kristensen (one of the PMs of Visual Studio and very active plugin developer) announced a live session on youtube called Writing Visual Studio Extensions with Mads - 64-bit extensions for Visual Studio 2022. Might be a good oportunity to get a head's up for breaking changes and asking questions.

In the VS2022 article, they asked for comments and also feature requests. As regular readers know, I consider the VO repository much more productive than VS. What would help a lot is if I could edit just 1 entity. I have posted this as a feature request. Maybe it helps if it gets upvotes so if you would like that too please check:

(I have also asked if they can provide a way to align comments padded with tabs, as with several a, like copy/paste these turn into spaces on my VS)
