Hi Robert,
the new website seems to have some problems with special characters like in the address of the Hotel for the conference and in the announcement of the changing plans near to the bottom of the page.

Wolfgang,
Thanks for checking. I think I have found and fixed most of the issues.
Do not hesitate to let me know if you still see an issue.

Hi Robert,
maybe a thing that could be changed: on the top of the website there is a large white space of 175 pixels between the title bar with the logo and the menu, and the green box with the "Welcome" message.
This is IMHO wasted space on a site that has much content. Maybe it can be changed (I know that working on templates can be a bit frustrating <g>).

Wolfgang,
I made a small change. I think it looks better now.
And yes, indeed, templates and styles are quite frustrating..

Congrats...
One thing to consider: A footer for the "cookies", providing ONLY "I accept" is somethat out of the time. At least one would like to know, what one accepts ;-)

Robert,

Is it possible to increase (double at least) the number of messages shown in the "Last Forum Messages" section in the main page? It's a bit difficult finding the new ones now.

Also in general there's much less information in one screen than before now. The general font used looks too big to me and there's a lot of empty space to the left and right part of the screen, so one needs to scroll a lot to read the text in the site.

I can only imagine how difficult is to deal with all that website stuff, personally I have no idea and hope never in my life to have to deal with such things :)

Chris,
I have changed the number to 10 and shortened the preview of the text a bit.
W.r.t. the whitespace: that is more difficult to change, I am afraid.
I have reduced the font size for the body text a bit. Let's hope that others will still be able to read things...

Robert,

Thanks, that helps!

About the font, my short term vision is really poor, if I can read it (with glasses), everybody probably can :)
I had tried just reducing the size locally (with CTRL + Scroll wheel), but unfortunately this causes the site elements to relocate further to the center, making even more empty space at the sides.

Another thing, is it possible to always (optionally I guess) have the "Subscribe (to this thread)" check disabled by default? I read all messages anyway...

Chris,
You can disable that from this location:

https://www.xsharp.eu/contact/cb-profile
on the forum profile tab.
Set "automatically subscribe" to no.
And on this page you can remove subscriptions to categories and individual topics from the "subscriptions"" tab
